SIEM REAP CITY 1 DAY PRIVATE TOUR OPTIONS
For this tour, we have created two itinerary options
OPTION-1 : Siem Reap City Tour Tinerary
MORNING: At 8:30 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel after breakfast and begin a guided city tour around Siem Reap, exploring attractions beyond the temples. This tour gives you a deeper look into local culture, daily life, history, and traditional craftsmanship. Some recommended places to visit include:
Angkor National Museum – Duration: 2hours
Highlights: The Angkor National Museum in Siem Reap is one of the best places to understand the history and culture of the Khmer Empire. The museum features modern galleries with interactive displays and beautiful collections of ancient artifacts discovered from the Angkor temples. Visitors can explore different exhibition halls that explain the rise and fall of the Angkor civilization, Khmer kings, religion, and daily life in the past. One of the most impressive sections is the Gallery of 1,000 Buddha Images, displaying a remarkable collection of Buddha statues in various styles and periods. A visit to the museum provides valuable background knowledge before exploring the temples of Angkor, helping visitors better understand the art, architecture, and spiritual significance of this great civilization.
Siem Reap Ceramic And Pottery – Duration: 30 minutes
Highlights: Located just in front of the Angkor National Museum, the Siem Reap Ceramic and Pottery Workshop is a wonderful place to discover Cambodia’s traditional ceramic art. This workshop preserves the ancient Khmer pottery techniques that date back to the Angkor period, when ceramics were widely used for daily life, religious ceremonies, and trade. Visitors can observe skilled local artisans demonstrating the full pottery-making process, from shaping clay on the wheel to hand-carving detailed patterns and glazing the finished pieces. The workshop also explains how traditional Khmer designs and colors are inspired by Angkorian art and temple carvings.
Wat Thmei Killing Field Museum – Duration: 1hour
Highlights: Wat Thmei is an important historical and memorial site in Siem Reap, dedicated to the victims of the Khmer Rouge regime (1975–1979). Located within a peaceful Buddhist temple compound, Wat Thmei stands as a reminder of one of the darkest periods in Cambodia’s history. The main memorial stupa contains human skulls and bones of victims who lost their lives during the Khmer Rouge era. Informational boards around the site explain the events that took place and the suffering experienced by the Cambodian people. Unlike the larger Killing Fields near Phnom Penh, Wat Thmei offers a quieter and more personal place for reflection.
Wat An Kau Sai – Duration: 30 minutes
Highlights: Wat An Kau Sai is a peaceful and less-visited temple complex located just outside the busy center of Siem Reap. This site is unique because it combines an ancient Angkorian brick temple with an active modern Buddhist pagoda, offering visitors a beautiful contrast between Cambodia’s past and present. The ancient temple, believed to date back to the 10th century, was built from red bricks and features simple yet elegant carvings typical of the early Angkor period. Although smaller and quieter than the famous Angkor temples, its charm lies in its tranquility and historical atmosphere.
War Museum – Duration: 1hour
Highlights: The Cambodia War Museum in Siem Reap offers a powerful and educational insight into the country’s recent history, especially the civil war and the Khmer Rouge period. It is the only war museum in Cambodia and displays a large collection of military equipment, including tanks, fighter jets, helicopters, artillery, landmines, and various weapons used during the conflicts. One of the most meaningful parts of the visit is hearing personal stories from local guides, many of whom are war survivors or former soldiers. They share real experiences about life during the war, helping visitors better understand the challenges Cambodia faced and the resilience of its people.
Psar Leu (Local Market) – Duration: 30 minutes
Highlights: Psar Leu Market is the largest and most authentic local market in Siem Reap. Unlike the tourist markets in the city center, Psar Leu offers a real glimpse into everyday Cambodian life, where local people come to shop for fresh food, clothing, and household goods. The market is divided into different sections, including fresh vegetables, tropical fruits, meat, fish, spices, and traditional Cambodian ingredients. Visitors can also find local snacks, street food, second-hand clothes, gold shops, and a variety of daily-use products. The busy atmosphere, colorful stalls, and friendly vendors create a lively and energetic experience.
Wat Prom Rath – Duration: 30 minutes
Highlights: Wat Prom Rath is one of the most beautiful and important Buddhist temples in Siem Reap. Located near the Siem Reap River and close to the Old Market area, this peaceful pagoda offers visitors a wonderful opportunity to experience Cambodia’s living Buddhist culture. The temple features colorful murals, detailed carvings, and impressive statues of the Buddha that reflect traditional Khmer artistic style. Inside the main prayer hall, visitors can admire vibrant wall paintings that tell stories from Buddha’s life and Cambodian folklore. The pagoda grounds are calm and well maintained, creating a quiet escape from the busy city center.
The total tour duration is approximately 6 hours and 30mn included with driving, depending on your pace and personal preference.

OPTION-2 : Siem Reap City Tour Tinerary
MORNING: At 8:30 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel after breakfast and begin a guided city tour around Siem Reap, exploring attractions beyond the temples. This tour gives you a deeper look into local culture, daily life, history, and traditional craftsmanship. Some recommended places to visit include:
Angkor Silk Farm – Duration: 1hour and 30mn.
Highlights: Located in Puok District, about 16 kilometers from Siem Reap town, the Angkor Silk Farm is a fascinating place to discover the traditional art of Cambodian silk production. Surrounded by peaceful countryside and rice fields, the farm offers visitors a chance to learn about the complete silk-making process from start to finish. At the silk farm, guests can see mulberry trees where silkworms are raised and observe each step of production — from feeding the silkworms, harvesting the cocoons, spinning the silk thread, natural dyeing, and finally traditional hand-weaving on wooden looms. Skilled artisans carefully create beautiful silk scarves, fabrics, and traditional Khmer textiles using techniques passed down through generations.
West Baray (West Mebon) – Duration: 30 minutes
Highlights: West Baray is one of the largest and most impressive ancient reservoirs in the Angkor region, covering an area of nearly 8 square kilometers. Built during the Angkorian period, this enormous water reservoir played a crucial role in supporting agriculture, particularly rice cultivation, and sustaining the daily life of the Khmer Empire. Today, West Baray is a peaceful and scenic spot, surrounded by green rice fields and small villages, offering visitors a glimpse of rural Cambodia. The calm waters of the reservoir reflect the sky and nearby temples, making it a perfect location for photography and relaxation. It is also a great place to observe local fishermen at work, traditional irrigation practices, and the rhythm of village life.
