KAMPONG PLUK - TONLE SAP LAKE – 1-DAY SIEM REAP PRIVATE TOUR OPTIONS
For this tour, we have created two itinerary options
OPTION-1 : Kampong Pluk Tour Tinerary
MORNING: At 9:00 AM, your driver will pick you up from your hotel after breakfast and depart for Kampong Phluk Fishing Village, famous for its stilt houses and flooded mangrove forest. Along the way, you will enjoy views of local villages, traditional houses, daily life of local people, small family businesses, local markets, and beautiful landscapes with rice fields.
After about one hour of driving, you will arrive at the boat dock, where you will purchase boat tickets to explore Kampong Phluk on Tonle Sap Lake. The boat tour allows you to visit the fishing village, cruise through the flooded mangrove forest, and experience the unique lifestyle of the lake community.
HIGHLIGHT: Kampong Phluk is one of the most authentic fishing villages on Tonle Sap Lake, located about 45 km southeast of Siem Reap. The village is best known for its impressive stilt houses, which rise up to 6–8 meters high to adapt to the seasonal flooding of the lake. Visiting Kampong Phluk offers a deep insight into the traditional lifestyle of local families who depend mainly on fishing and small-scale trading for their daily living. A boat trip through Kampong Phluk allows visitors to explore the floating and stilted houses, local schools, pagodas, and fishing activities. One of the most memorable experiences is cruising through the flooded mangrove forest, especially during the high-water season, where the trees create a peaceful and scenic tunnel. This mangrove forest plays an important role in protecting the ecosystem and supporting fish breeding. Kampong Phluk is less crowded than other Tonle Sap villages, making it ideal for travelers who want a quiet, natural, and culturally rich experience. The tour offers beautiful views of the lake, local wildlife, and daily village life, giving visitors a genuine understanding of how communities live in harmony with the changing water levels of Tonle Sap Lake.
The total tour duration is approximately 3–4 hours, depending on your pace and personal preference.
END OF TOUR: This tour will finish around 2:00 PM. After the last attraction, we will transfer you back to your hotel.
In the evening, you may also enjoy a night show such as the Apsara Traditional Dance Show or the Phare, The Cambodian Circus. The performances usually run from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Please inform our driver in advance if you would like us to arrange a reservation for you, and you pay a bit extra to driver for OT.
