_{MORNING: At 4:30 or 5:00 AM (depending on the time of year and sunrise schedule), our driver and tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the Angkor ticket office to assist you in purchasing your Angkor Pass. After that, we will head to Angkor Wat to enjoy the beautiful sunrise and begin exploring the temple complex.}

Please note that you can also purchase your Angkor ticket online in advance if you prefer to save time in the morning. If your hotel provides complimentary breakfast, we recommend requesting a breakfast box to take with you. If breakfast is not included, we can stop at a nearby restaurant for breakfast and coffee after sunrise and once you have completed your visit to Angkor Wat.

Angkor Wat and Sunrise — Duration: 3hours : Highlight : sunrise at Angkor Wat is one of the most unforgettable experiences in Cambodia. As the first light of dawn slowly appears behind the temple’s five iconic towers, the sky changes from deep blue to soft pink and golden orange. The reflection of Angkor Wat in the peaceful lotus ponds creates a breathtaking and picture-perfect moment. The early morning atmosphere is cool, quiet, and magical, making it the best time for photography and enjoying the spiritual beauty of the temple. Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument in the world and the most iconic landmark of Cambodia. Built in the early 12th century by King Suryavarman II, it was originally dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu and later became a Buddhist temple. The temple is famous for its grand architecture, five lotus-shaped towers, and long galleries decorated with stunning bas-reliefs that tell stories from Hindu epics.

South Gate of Angkor Thom – Duration: 30mn : Highlight :  is one of the most impressive and well-preserved entrances to the ancient royal city. Built in the late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII, this grand gate stands about 23 meters high and is crowned with four giant smiling faces looking in the four cardinal directions. These serene faces are believed to represent Avalokiteshvara or the compassionate spirit of the king. As you approach the gate, you will cross a long stone bridge lined with 54 statues of gods (Devas) on one side and 54 demons (Asuras) on the other, each holding the body of a giant naga (serpent). This dramatic scene represents the famous Hindu legend of the “Churning of the Ocean of Milk.

Bayon Temple – Duration: 1hour : Highlight: is khnow for its 54 towers and over 200 smilling  stone faces and one of the most fascinating temples in the Angkor complex, famous for its many stone faces smiling in all directions. Built in the late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII, Bayon was originally a Buddhist temple located at the center of Angkor Thom. The temple is known for its unique architecture, with more than 50 towers carved with serene faces believed to represent Avalokiteshvara or the king himself. Bayon’s bas-reliefs vividly show daily life, battles, and historical events of the Khmer Empire, making it a truly unforgettable site to explore. 

Baphuon Temple – Duration: 30mn: Highlight : is an impressive 11th-century temple located within the ancient city of Angkor Thom. Built during the reign of King Udayadityavarman II, it was originally dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva and later transformed into a Buddhist temple. The temple is designed as a three-tiered pyramid, symbolizing Mount Meru, the sacred mountain in Hindu cosmology.

Phimeanakas – Duration: 15mn: Highlight : is a fascinating temple located within the Royal Palace area of Angkor Thom. Built in the late 10th century during the reign of King Rajendravarman and later expanded by King Suryavarman I, this Hindu temple was dedicated to the god Shiva. The name “Phimeanakas” means “Celestial Palace,” reflecting its royal and spiritual significance.

Elephant Terrace   – Duration: 30mn: Highlight : is one of the most impressive royal structures inside Angkor Thom. Built in the late 12th century during the reign of King Jayavarman VII, this long sandstone terrace stretches for about 300 meters and was used as a grand viewing platform for public ceremonies, royal processions, and victory celebrations.

Leper King Terrace – Duration: 30mn: Highlight: is a mysterious and beautifully carved royal terrace located just north of the Terrace of the Elephants in Angkor Thom. Built in the late 12th century during the reign of King Jayavarman VII, it is believed to have served as a royal cremation site or ceremonial platform.

Ta Keo Temple – Duration: 30mn: Highlight: is a striking temple mountain built in the late 10th century during the reign of King Jayavarman V and dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. It is considered one of the earliest temples in Angkor constructed almost entirely from sandstone. Ta Keo is known for its massive pyramid shape with five towers arranged in a quincunx pattern on the top level, symbolizing Mount Meru, the sacred mountain in Hindu cosmology. Visitors can climb the steep staircases to reach the upper terraces, where they can enjoy impressive views of the surrounding Angkor jungle.

BREAK FOR LUCH: 12:45 PM – Take a break for lunch. There are many local restaurants or food stalls around Srah Srang. Enjoy some traditional Khmer foods.

_AFTERNOON:

Ta Prom or Tomb Raider Temple – Duration: 1hour : Highlight: is one of the most atmospheric and photogenic temples in the Angkor complex. Built in the late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII and originally dedicated to his mother, this Buddhist monastery and university was once home to hundreds of monks and thousands of attendants. What makes Ta Prohm truly special is the way nature has intertwined with the ruins. Massive silk-cotton and strangler fig trees grow directly out of the temple walls, with enormous roots wrapping around the ancient stones. Unlike many other temples, Ta Prohm has been left largely in its natural state, giving visitors a real sense of discovery and adventure.

Banteay Kdei Temple  – Duration: 30mn : Highlight: is a peaceful and less crowded Buddhist temple built in the late 12th to early 13th century during the reign of King Jayavarman VII. The name “Banteay Kdei” means “Citadel of Chambers,” which reflects its maze-like layout of halls, courtyards, and galleries.

Srah Srang – Duration: 15mn: Highlight: often called the “Royal Bath,” is a beautiful and peaceful reservoir located near Banteay Kdei in the Angkor area. Originally constructed in the 10th century and later renovated in the 12th century by King Jayavarman VII, Srah Srang was once used for royal bathing rituals and ceremonial purposes.

Kravan Temple – Duration: 30mn. Highlight: is a small but historically significant 9th-century Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, located in the Angkor Archaeological Park. Built during the reign of King Jayavarman IV, Kravan is known for its unique use of red brick construction and intricate terracotta bas-reliefs that have remarkably survived through the centuries.

_{DAY-2 : Kbal Spean And Banteay Srei Tour Itinerary (Full Day)}

Here’s a detailed tour itinerary for visiting Kbal Spean and Banteay Srei, two captivating sites located in Cambodia’s Siem Reap province. This itinerary combines nature exploration with historical and cultural immersion.

MORNING: 8:00 AM: Departure from Siem Reap, after breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel, and then we’ll begin our tour: Begin your journey early to make the most of the day. Depart from Siem Reap by private car or van, enjoying the scenic countryside as you drive toward Kbal Spean, which is about 57 kilometers from the city.

9:30 AM: Arrive at Kbal Spean: Known as the “River of a Thousand Lingas,” Kbal Spean is an archaeological site set deep within the jungle. After arrival, take a moderate 1.5 km uphill hike through the lush forest. The hike takes around 45 minutes, and along the way, you’ll enjoy the serene surroundings and wildlife.

10:30 AM: Explore Kbal Spean: At the top, marvel at the intricately carved lingas (phallic symbols of fertility) and depictions of Hindu gods etched into the riverbed. The carvings date back to the 11th century and are submerged during the rainy season, but visible during the dry months. This spot offers a blend of natural beauty and historical significance. Don’t miss the small waterfall that cascades over the carvings during the wet season.

Highlight: Kbal Spean is a unique archaeological site located in the jungle of the Kulen Mountains, about 57 km north of Siem Reap. It is famously known as the “River of a Thousand Lingas.” Visitors walk about 1.5 km through a beautiful forest trail to reach the riverbed, where hundreds of sacred carvings are sculpted directly into the sandstone under the flowing water. The carvings date from the 11th–12th centuries during the Angkor period and include many Shiva Lingas, as well as Hindu images such as Vishnu, Lakshmi, and other mythological figures. The ancient Khmer people believed the holy water flowing over these carvings would bless and purify the land before reaching the Angkor temples. Today, Kbal Spean is not only an important historical site but also a peaceful nature spot with waterfalls, jungle scenery, and fascinating ancient stone carvings hidden along the riverbed. It is a special place where nature, religion, and Khmer history meet together.

LUNCH BREAK: 12:30 PM: Stop for a relaxed lunch at a local restaurant nearby. Take in the scenic surroundings and sample some traditional Cambodian dishes.

AFTERNOON 1:30 PM: Depart for Banteay Srei temple; After a 30-minute drive from Kbal Spean, arrive at the enchanting Banteay Srei, a temple known as the “Citadel of Women” due to the intricacy and elegance of its carvings. This 10th-century Hindu temple is dedicated to Shiva and constructed with pink sandstone, which gives it a unique hue compared to other Angkor temples.

Banteay Srei Temple – Duration 2hours : Highlight: is one of the most beautiful and unique temples in the Angkor region, located about 37 km north of Siem Reap. Built in the 10th century and dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, the temple is famous for its delicate carvings and stunning pink sandstone, which gives it the nickname “The Pink Lady Temple.” Unlike many larger temples in Angkor Archaeological Park, Banteay Srei is smaller in size but incredibly detailed. The walls, doorways, and pediments are covered with some of the finest and most well-preserved carvings in all of Angkor, depicting scenes from Hindu mythology with extraordinary craftsmanship. Because of its warm pink color and intricate decorations, the temple is especially beautiful in the early morning and late afternoon sunlight, when the sandstone glows with rich tones. Banteay Srei is often considered a jewel of Khmer classical art and one of the must-see temples when visiting the Angkor area.

* After exploring Banteay Srei: You’ll drive pass by Landmine Museum and  through charming villages, rice paddies and local make and sell palm sugar,  offering opportunities to stop for photos or shop for local crafts or see more attractions.

– Landmine Museum: Landmine Museum, a deeply moving site founded by former child soldier Aki Ra. The museum provides insight into Cambodia’s landmine crisis and the efforts toward landmine removal.

Highlights: Explore exhibits detailing Cambodia’s tragic history with landmines and hear stories of resilience from those affected.

– Palm Market: On the way back to Siem Reap, stop at the vibrant Palm Market. This local market is famous for palm products, snacks, and handicrafts.

Highlights: Sample palm sugar candies, see how palm fruit is processed, and pick up a few souvenirs.

– Banteay Srei Butterfly Center: Visit the enchanting Banteay Srei Butterfly Center, home to hundreds of native Cambodian butterflies. The open-air enclosure offers a peaceful environment to observe these beautiful creatures.

Highlights: Walk through the lush garden and see a variety of butterflies up close while learning about butterfly conservation efforts in Cambodia.

END OF TOUR

This tour will finish around 5:30 PM. After the last attraction, we will transfer you back to your hotel. In the evening, you may also enjoy a night show such as the Apsara Traditional Dance Show or the Phare, The Cambodian Circus. The performances usually run from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Please inform our driver in advance if you would like us to arrange a reservation for you.
